Customer Reviews:
Great to make casseroles again (2008-01-18)
I used this to make gluten free tuna casserole. I halved the recipe to make the soup base and though a little watery it worked just fine as I used brown rice noodles to make the dish. Brown rice noodles tend to stay “al dente” without cooking them a fairly long time, so the extra moisture worked very well. My husband who does not have to eat gluten free really liked it.Good Taste, Gluten Free (2007-10-07)
I like this product. It’s a good replacement for canned mushroom soup. The taste is not spectacular, but it’s as good as the run of the mill canned. It gets very creamy if made to directions and works extremely well in casseroles and other dishes. Easy to use. It’s a must have in a gluten free kitchen. Not the same as Campbell’s but still good (2007-05-10)
This soup mix doesn’t taste as good as the old Campbell’s condensed cream of mushroom soup but it does work well as a substitute if you are gluten free. I mix it with milk instead of water if I want a creamier texture and taste.Add things to this soup mix for best results (2007-04-04)
I found this has a slightly peculiar taste (doesnt everything gluten free, to some degree) but if you add things to the soup mix you will be happy! I added sliced mushrooms, cauliflower bits, and a little pepper to mine. Thought about adding cheese some time, just until melted, for a cheesy soup. Hard to find soups that are gluten free. I thought they didnt exist. Happy to find this one.Better than Campbells (2007-03-19)
Even non-celiac people should switch over. Here’s an amazing gravy for chicken or pork chops. Try it next time and serve next to mashed potatoes: 2c. water and 1/2c. mix. Bring to gentle boil over high heat. Remove from heat immediately. Stir in 1/4c sour cream. Pour over meat, browned in a skillet. Simmer on lowest heat until meat is cooked through, turning and stirring often to prevent skorching. Hmmmm. I’m getting hungry!
