Extraordinary versatility! (2008-04-12)
I bake a batch of gf cookies once a week for my resident wheat-allergic cookie monsters, and they love them. (Fortunately they have very high metabolisms!) The simple sugar cookies are good, with lots of vanilla extract, as are the box recipe snickerdoodles. You can do so many things with this mix. We’ve added butter brickle bits, toasted nuts, chocolate chips, etc. Last week’s flavor was a marzipan-y ground almond and almond extract version that could easily have passed for a German bakery cookie. Today’s flavor is lemon with toasted pecan: I added a few dollops of softened cream cheese and some lemon extract. Next week I’m thinking cinnamon and toasted walnut. I use all butter, not half butter and half shortening as the box recommends, and haven’t had any difficulties. No cakes yet. When amazon ran out of stock, we had to order more from Canada, so I’m glad it is available again. Even a novice cook can’t go wrong with this mix, and I’ll bet your cookie monsters will love the results.Delicious and easy to prepare (2007-12-01)
I am so happy I can now find this mix again, now that Amazon carries it!! Better yet it is shipped free with the $25. minimum purchase!! I am intolerant of any wheat or corn products. This mix does not contain cornstarch, thank goodness!! If you are (or know someone) sensitive to wheat and or corn, this is a delicious baking mix and very versatile. If you miss homemade snickerdoodles, look no further! They were simple enough for my 10 year old daughter to make, and they are just like the cookies I remember growing up. They only trouble is they disappear way too fast.I’m addicted to this cake. (2007-06-11)

Both my mom & sister are gluten intolerant, so I have used many gluten free products to make cakes or other recipes for family get togethers. This is the best cake mix by far….This cake mix is just as good as wheat-based mixes. I modify it to make various kinds of cakes: coconut cake, red velvet cake, etc. It always gets rave reviews, even from those used to eating wheat-based cakes. (My mom & sister can tolerate vanilla pudding, so I add one third to half a box of instant vanilla pudding - regular, not sugar free - per bag of cake mix to make it extra moist.) I also use The Gluten Free Pantry’s chocolate truffle brownie mix; it is better to me than any wheat based brownie mix.
