Great bread substitute (2007-09-07)
I can’t get out to buy fresh bread, but this product is an excellent substitute. My shipment tasted neither flat nor stale, although some packages had been crushed in transit (instant croutons). I’m especially pleased that these don’t have the overly sweet taste that is so common in other whole-wheat products. I use them as part of a low-glycemic diet with cheeses, eggs, soups, salads, and spreads, and I’ll be reordering them often.Priced right but… (2007-06-11)
I am trying to watch fats and fiber in the diet is always a good idea. I purchased these thinking the whole wheat would be good for you-and it is. However, these arrived tasting very stale and flat. The flat I could deal with, as something used as a topping would take care of that. The stale taste is something that can not be overcome. I would not buy something like this from Amazon in the future for fear that the same thing would happen. Also, try as hard as I could, I did not find an expiration date on the package-outer box or inner bag, so no freshness indicator to know who is at fault.
