Good mild mustard flavor (2007-12-16)
I liked the flavor of these sardines better than I did the Mediterranean sardines made by the same company. They share the same problem of the irregular sardine size though. There are usually between 6 and 8 sardines in a can, but they vary in size and sometimes one of them is just a piece of a sardine.
If you are looking for a hot mustard flavor, these won’t be to your liking. The mustard sauce is even milder than regular yellow mustard. I liked it that way though. I thought it balanced pretty well with the flavor of the sardines.
Here is the ingredient list: Lightly smoked sardines, mustard sauce (water, distilled vinegar, mustard seed, turmeric, spices, soya oil, sugar, starch, salt), salt.
