Customer Reviews:
It’s one of only three oils that everyone SHOULD be consuming (2007-02-06)
It’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil…..what can I say except that it tastes fine. However, I admit that I actually do prefer the more expensive Costco’s EVOO for it’s lightness and delicate flavor. Of the three oils (EVOO, coconut oil, and nut oils like macadamia or walnut) that are healthy for everyone, EVOO has the least intrusive flavor in my opinion. The last two oils are actually better to use when cooking with high heat. Unhealthy (actually deadly) oxidation is minimal when heating these last two oils compared to vegetable oils or butter/margarine. The healthiest oils need to be ‘cold pressed’…. no heat involved in the processing…. and from the FIRST pressing of the olives. Also, EVOO needs to be stored in a proper environment….cool and dark….as well as used within a relatively short time span compared to vegetable oils and all the other hydrogenated oils in order to maintain it’s high quality and eliminate rancidity. Any oil that is hydrogenated, partially hydrogenated, or interesterified (as now seen in the latest MacDonald’s propaganda) is down right dangerous to consume. I basically call it a slow suicide to ingest them. Bertolli’s EVOO is a good oil to choose for one’s health!!
