Customer Reviews:
Best tasting low carb tortillas so far! (2007-11-08)
I have to admit I was kinda skeptical at first……but when I tried them…
I WAS SOLD. These tortillas are great! Believe me…I have tried a few different low carb brands and they all were just horrible. I am so happy that Amazon offered these at a great price too!Delicious! (2007-09-14)
I love these. One note of caution — when cooked, they dry out easily, so I’ve found the key is to make sure that you cook them *with* whatever will eventually be on them.
So, for instance, I often like to have just a tortilla with cheese — a tortilla topped with cheddar (or mixed cheese), toasted in the toaster oven. These turn out great, provided I ensure that every bit of the top of the tortilla is covered with cheese. Any bits that aren’t will dry out and become hard as a rock. This wrap is the BEST! I have adopted a low carb and low fat life style for about one year and the Tumaro’s Low Carb wraps have really helped me keep off the weight. The wraps have a great taste - my kids even love them with a spread of peanut butter and a dab of honey!
Inconsistent taste and texture (2007-08-15)
I’ve had low-carb tortillas before and I must say I was disappointed with how the Tumaro’s Multi-grain tortillas taste. The texture is also dry and quickly hardens when you warm the tortilla making it feel like cardboard.
If you’re buying these as a bread substitute, be aware that they won’t taste well with everything. If you use lots of vegetables and spices, they’re alright. But if you try to make a simple cheese wrap it will taste awful.I wanted to order more…and now they are gone? (2007-04-27)
I like these low-carb tortillas. The problem for us with staying on a low-carb diet is that we miss the convenience of throwing something together between two slices of bread or in a burrito-style tortilla. These tortillas are not as good as the high-carb versions, clearly, but they got the job done and made it possible for me to throw together some quick lunches and dinners. Just throw on cheese and other ingredients, stick ‘em under the broiler for a few minutes, then fold ‘em over. I could make enough to last a few days, reheatable in the microwave.
So now we’re running low and I come here to order some more, and they are not available any more! BUMMER! Major BUMMER!
